Lianshulu Lodge (Mudumu National Park) Namibia

Lounge at Lianshulu Lodge (Mudumu National Park) Namibia -

Private concession in the Mudumu National Park, East Caprivi, (Namibia) on the Kwando River. Cradled between the mysterious Okavango River to the west and the mighty Zambezi River to the east, Lianshulu Camp nestles beneath a canopy of shady Jackalberry and Mangosteen trees, on the banks of the meandering Kwando River. Here in the heart of the Mudumu National Park, dry and sweltering Mopane woodlands meet the allure of a fragile Kwando wetland ecosystem, a forgotten land, largely untouched by the influence of man.

For nine years the people involved in Lianshulu Lodge have been sensitive to the integrity of the magnificent wilderness that embraces the Mudumu National Park and its bordering flood plains, many of which have now been consolidated into wildlife conservancies. Lianshulu Lodge has been entrusted with the only private concession area in Namibia located within the boundaries of a National Park.

Chalet at Lianshulu Lodge (Mudumu National Park) Namibia - www.africansafaris.travelAccommodation

Now we invite you to share this very personal experience with us. During your stay at Lianshulu Camp, your enjoyment, health and well-being is of paramount importance to us, so allow our friendly and dedicated team to attend to your every whim. From your early morning coffee or tea, served in bed at the break of dawn, to the moment our Caprivi drums invite you to a congenial and romantic dinner, the spectacle of an enchanting Africa will keep you enthralled. The spirit and solitude of Lianshulu will remain with you, long after your departure. In a country often characterized as hot and dry, the Eastern Caprivi is noticeably more tropical than any of Namibia’s other regions. It enjoys a higher rainfall and a warmer winter than the rest of the country, providing a home to plants, birds and animals that are unable to survive in more arid biomes. The visitor can choose between two quite distinct seasons. The temperate and cooler months between April and October coincide with the dry period, during which the game might be somewhat more prolific. Rain falls sporadically in the afternoons during the months of December to March, but nature now shows its lush and vibrant side, with bird watching at its phenomenal best. Lianshulu’s secluded location guarantees you a timeless and spectacularly unspoilt African adventure.

All nature activities are conducted by our experienced, resident naturalist guides, who will introduce you to our world and set you up for the most striking photographic opportunities. 400 species of birds have been recorder in the East Caprivi and include Marsh Harrier, Bateleur Eagle, Fish Eagle, Pygmy Goose, Lesser Jacana, Purple Banded Sunbird and the African Golden Oriole. Although game populations fluctuate through the seasons, many typical savannah and woodland species occur in the area, with elephant and hippopotamus being particularly abundant. In order to enjoy the full range of mixed activities, a stay of two nights is suggested.

The future of this unique natural heritage will depend upon the active involvement of the people who live in these remote areas of the Eastern Caprivi. Lianshulu Camp has been instrumental in creating new opportunities and actively encourages projects that utilize indigenous products on a sustainable basis. We are concerned about environmental education and promote wildlife conservation, in order to return direct economic and social benefits to local communities. By and be assured of best rates at Lianshulu, you too, will have contributed to our community upliftment fund.
