African Safaris and Travel - Our safaris reflect every travelers style, time frame and budget!

This safari covers two of the premier parks in Zambia – The South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi plus Livingstone, home to the spectacular Victoria Falls. The Luangwa Valley, which marks the end of the Great Rift Valley, is one of the last unspoiled wilderness areas and possibly the finest wildlife sanctuary in Africa.  The Luangwa River flows into the Zambezi River – just below the Lower Zambezi National Park.  This park, scenically bordered by an impressive escarpment, has excellent game, which can be viewed from either the river or by land.

Quietly drifting past a huge elephant feeding is a great experience.  Livingstone is home to one of 7 natural wonders of the world, the Victoria Falls, and offers many opportunities, both adrenaline filled and more sedate, to view this amazing site. There are game viewing opportunities too, with a chance to see the white rhino in Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park and river trips on the Zambezi River. Combining these three areas in Zambia gives you an exceptional safari.

Day 1 On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, you will be met by a Robin Pope Safaris' representative who will have a name board with your names. He/She will assist you with immigration and customs clearing then check in for your flight to Mfuwe, South Luangwa.

At Mfuwe International Airport a guide from Robin Pope Safaris will meet you for transfer to Luangwa River Camp, through colourful village life. The ten bedded camp is situated opposite the Luangwa Wafwa (a game rich area of the park) in the Upper Lupande Game Management Area.  It offers all the creature comforts of a camp yet with all the intimacy, tailored activities and flexible mealtimes you come to expect from a bush camp.  The camp is unique with its décor of locally crafted and handmade details.  The main area is elevated between 1-3 metres on wooden decks affording great views to the park and river. The swimming pool is sunk into the deck, linked by a waterfall.

Seating areas are all elevated and open plan with a bar area as well as a dining and reading area. Depending on your arrival time you may settle in for some lunch, siesta then off on an afternoon activity. There is an option to turn back after sundowners or continue to see what nocturnals you can spot, returning to camp by 8pm. LUANGWA RIVER CAMP

Day 2 A full day to explore, either on foot or on a game drive. LUANGWA RIVER CAMP

Day 3 & 4 The next couple of days will be spend as you wish - an option is there to take a walking activity or game drive; or even both. For those with a knack for shopping can take a trip to Tribal Textiles for locally printed fabrics which are sewn into various items – perfect for souvenirs or gifts for friends and family. Perhaps a trip to Kawaza Village to experience an authentic Zambian village, interact with the locals and even sample a local meal.

Nothing is set in stone; you can discuss your specific interests with your guide. LUANGWA RIVER CAMP

Day 5 After an early breakfast transfer to Mfuwe Airport for the flight to the Lower Zambezi (1 hour 30 mins) where you will be met by a member of the Kasaka staff. Kasaka River Lodge is a 22 bed luxury tented camp uniquely positioned 50ft above the Zambezi River, directly opposite Mana Pools and affording breath-taking views.  Eight luxury chalets are located on either the “Tame Side” with its manicured lawns, swimming pool and native trees, or the “Wild Side”, reached by wooden walkways suspended high above the ground.  Activities include game viewing by vehicle, boat or on foot, night drives, canoeing, fishing, and cultural visits to the Mugurameno village.  KASAKA RIVER LODGE

Day 6 & 7 These are two full days to enjoy the mighty Zambezi River experience. Lower Zambezi is great for water based activities that include canoeing, boating and fishing with game drives and walking as a bonus, for you to choose from.  You therefore have a full range of activities on offer for these two days; the choice is all yours. Tiger fishing (on a catch and release basis) is a must for keen fishermen. KASAKA RIVER LODGE

Day 8  After breakfast and farewells, a drive through the park to the airstrip to meet the plane taking you to Livingstone via Lusaka (approximately 1.5 hours flight time). Stanley Safari Lodge is located on the hills overlooking the Zambezi River and Victoria Falls in a bush location.
